    SSPC Annual Conference 2010

    "Focusing our Research on Patients"

    The newly reformed SSPC Annual Conference will take place on 27th & 28th April 2010 at the Crieff Hydro Hotel. The conference will be spread over 2 days with social activities and a formal dinner arranged for your pleasure. The conference focuses on patient and public involvement in research and will be an ideal opportunity to sample the breadth of research activity of relevance to primary care, and network with research minded colleagues from across the professions.

    • Mr Lester Firkins, Lay member, James Lind Alliance. "Why Patients and Clinicians should Tell Researchers What to Do..."
    • Prof Vikki Entwistle, Professor of Values in Health Care at the University of Dundee. "Patient and Public Involvement in Research"
    • Dr Patricia Schofield, Director of Centre for Advanced Studies in Nursing, University of Aberdeen. "Working with older adults in developing research into pain".

      Social Programme

      You will also have the opportunity to take part in a social event with a difference at the Crieff Activity Centre and dine in style at our formal dinner with surprise entertainment. Please see below for details

      You can choose from the following options to take part in between the sessions on the dinner on the Tuesday. You can of course just relax by the hotel pool or pamper yourself in the spa

      • Quads at £35.00 per head
      • 4x4 off-road driving at £15.00 per head
      • Archery £20.00 per head
      • Laser Quest at £25.00 per head
      • Horse riding treks at £28 per head

      Abstract/Posters/Workshops

      SSPC National Awards

      For the 1st time we are holding the SSPC National Awards during the conference with a prize giving at the conference dinner. Full details for the categories and how to nominate will be available soon. For more info please see the awards page or email Laura Wilkie
