    Abstracts/Posters/Workshops

    Annoucements regarding call for abstracts are circulated first at our Twitter page or through the CHAIN network in our Primary Care Researchers in Scotland sub group.

    Abstract Guidance

    We allow approx 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion after each presentation.

    At the conference the presentation rooms will have available data projectors for PowerPoint presentations. We would also request that all presenters use the on-site equipment rather than own laptops etc. If you require the use of speakers for your presentation please let us know prior to the event.

    Poster Guidance

    You will be allocated a poster number, it will give the poster position in the display area and the abstract number in the printed delegate handbook.

    Guidelines for Designing a Poster:

    • Sizes can be anything from A0 portrait (841mm x 1189mm) to A2 or can be made up from A4 or A3 laminated pages
    • Divide the content into appropriate sections and keep text brief.
    • Keep illustrations simple.
    • Text and figures should be readable at a distance of six feet.
    • Photographs should be clear
    • Avoid too much information.

    Handouts

    No more than two sides of A4. Include your name, address, telephone number, and email address. Take plenty of copies and attach a plastic wallet or pocket to your poster board

      Poster contents should include:
    • title
    • author and collaborators
    • abstract
    • introduction/background -150-175 words
    • aims/objectives
    • methods - flow chart may be helpful
    • results - main results with clear diagrams/graphs/quotes/etc
    • discussion/conclusions - relate to practice/audience
    • full contact details

    Workshops

    We allow approx 1 hour 15 minutes for the workshops.
